You've got to see this conversion.

Very interesting . . . thanks for posting    :)
Beware the man with one gun, he probably knows how to use it.

Kinda adds some authenticity to the Kirst-Mason ejector housing.
A work in progress.

Gotta admit it is a pretty sweet conversion. I like the heavy barrel.
The first step of becoming a good shooter is knowing which end the bullet comes out of and being on the other end.

I can see the lineage of my Taylor's Uberti-made 44-40 '63 Army conversions in that gun. I can see that the Taylor's offering in 32-20 will be popular. Different arrangement of the ejector rod and loading gate.
So far I've seen pics of several such conversions, some by Remington; one marked 'WRACO' on the right side of the barrel ahead of the frame - ("Gunfighter" - Joseph G. Rosa, page 38). Below it is pictured a beautifully engraved, plated Army conversion that looks very much like my 44-40s with the non-spring loaded ejector and loading gate/recoil shield.

Another book with several good pictures of Remington conversions is "Frontier Pistols & Revolvers", pages 98-100 - Dominique Venner. However, the captions under two pictures have been interchanged. Makes it fun to indentify.

Cartridge conversions of the Remington C&Bs would be the guns I would specialize in if'n money was no object. In the meantime, I'll enjoy my modern repros.
