it's for autographs there wasn't any such thing called salad dressing till late in the 20th century, you call yer self a historian/chef

Not store bought, plenty of recipes in old cook books for salad dressing. ;)

I 'spose it's time to fess up, I scanned that out of one of Wilson's books a couple years ago, I think it was the Winchester book.  It's a group of Texas Rangers  can't remember the exact date.  (If someone has their book handy they can check the caption although Wison is not always perfect on captions on historical pictures.)

That explains the "notebook"
It's actually a ticket book for writing speeding tickets and parking fines. ;)
