I know we have a shoot planned for 22 May 11.  Welcome and hope to see you there.  It is a little over 1100 miles from home to the range, but we are heading that way.

Jess,  That's great news.  We have matches scheduled for 5/22 and 10/29 at the Mid Carolina Riflle Club in Gaston, SC.  We're also getting together at my homestead on April 9 to discuss our future, so please come.  Please contact me.

I'm in the Charlotte area, just mailed off a NCOWS membership this morning and will be planning on heading to the Saluda Saddle Tramps shoot on the 22nd. Thanks for getting NCOWS started in the SC/NC area. I hope you get a lot of support.

Darby,  I just sent you an e-mail.  We are having an organizational meeting on April 9 at 1:00.

There are a number of us in Florida that are planing to attend the SC NCOWS shoot in Gaston SC. on May 22. It is being orginized by Major2 and I'm sure more info will be available soon such as directions, time, range fees and I assume it is open to NCOWS members from out of state. Congradulations on planing and setting the date for you first event. I will be in the state close to Greenville thurs night or sat. staying with family and driveing to and staying in Gaston Saturday night. Been an NCOWS member for 7 months or so but have not done an NCOWS meet. Your FIRST meet will be my FIRST NCOWS.
Will the majority of shooters be shooting two gun or will stages be set up for ten rifle ,ten pistol, 4  shotgun? To shoot the normal SASS setup of total of 4 guns, I can make level 2 except for Shotgun which is an orignal 1895 clone of a 78 Colt DB Mule ear. My level 2 though is 1864 CCC. (Cracker Cow Calvary) So really I can only qualify for level 2 with my Henry and one of my 60's. Let me know please what your rules of engagement are. Anixous to meet you guys and maby pick you brains a little for our club in Fla.
How often do you think you will meet? Central Fla is closer to SC then I thought.
just a little about myself. 5-6 years SASS, ROII, Shooting Frontier Cartrige duliest, full BP Goex loads. Long Distance 45/70 Sharps, two years with Not So Young Guns renacting Shoot outs at Fairs, rodeos, frontier Days yada yada. Ok that my story and I'm sticking to it. See ya when the smoke clears.

Here is what Dave sent me :

You'll come up 95 to I-26W.  Take exit 115 off I-26W and make a left from the exit ramp toward Swansea.  Go under the interstate and continue to the traffic light at the top of the hill.  Take a right onto Fish Hatchery Road.  After about 5 miles, you will come to a stop sign at a T in the road.  Turn right onto Fish Hatchery Road.  Once you pass Forest Manor Mobile Home Park on the left after about a quarter of a mile, look for a blue sign on the left and turn onto the dirt road.  The gate will be unlocked.  Take the first right, drive through the parking lot to a narrow asphalt road, and follow that road to the next parking lot.  That's where we'll be.

The Country Heath Inn is at this exit...I made two reservations..... John Holmes, Dakota Ike & Dennis Hus are all but committed
I'm driving up Sat. May 21

Cherokee,  I hope you can make it.  As a new NCOWS posse made up primarily of SASS folks, we are striving to be at level 1 by the end of the year.  Expect our first match to be confusing, but laid back and fun.  We're lacking props, but over time will evolve into a great NCOWS posse.  Due to a scarcity of open dates at the club, our next match will be on 10/22/11.  Perhaps eventually we'll locate an alternate shooting venue.  I shoot a very slow senior duelist in SASS, so will shoot duelist in NCOWS.  Stages are set up for 4 guns, but we could accommodate working cowboy.  OO aka Dave
