A mansion of Nebraska marble

The Isadore Haumont two-story sod house on French Table north of Broken Bow, Custer County, Nebraska.  Isadore was from Belgium and settled in Custer County.  Sod was often jokingly referred to as Nebraska Marble.

I survived until 1967, it was lived in till the 1930's, the roof protects it and as long as it's kept patched up, they last a long time.

It's what we call English, most of Europe uses that type, the Aussies do two, they have a modified one that is their stock sassle.  They don't do much roping, drovers down there tend to tail them down.  Got a customer who comes back to his in'laws every couple years.  He's a drover on a station in The Northwest Territories, they get their electricty from generators and their phone, TV and internet via satellite.
