Major 2

Three men saddle up and hit the trail to take on the mountains of northern Wyoming. They'll leave all modern luxuries behind, taking only the supplies of the mountain men of the 1840s. Veterans trail riders Doc Ivory and Oliver McCloskey will have their hands full making sure greenhorn Jamie Laws stays out of trouble. They'll teach him to ride, to hunt, to forage and ultimately to survive. Wildfires, grizzlies, and hunger are just a few of the challenges the riders will face as they make their way to the crossing of the Snake River and climb over the Tetons. Come hell or high water it's going to be a Hard Ride.

I cought the show yesterday, and enjoyed it.
I think it might make good series , certanly better than some of the BS reality shows aired  ::)
but I think that was the only episode.

McCloskey is somewhat the Jerk , Doc is levelheaded and cool , Jamie could play the Mikey/Chumley roll  :-\

doc   and  oliver are two of the most historically accurate "mountaineers" who choose this time frame of history and they have authored  books on "supply and demand   the ledgers and gear of the fur trade  liberty graphics  2009"  as well as the umo cayuse handbook  all you need to know about riding and packing  you can look up many other similar articles in the tomahawk and long rifle magazine of the american mountain men.  great reading by 2 very knowledgeable men.   highly recommended!  ol pete rollet

Hi,

My mother, who would never say ill of any one, once remarked that her grandfather, Watt Watson Ellis, was on of the meanest men she ever met ... when I questioned further, she silenced herself ...

I have come to believe that one had to be 'hard' on the border ... one coud not expect help from the backups that we (think) we have ..... so men were tougher, more circumspect ... less talkative ... they tended to let their actions speak for them ....

"Course that is just my thoughts ...
My moniker is my great grandfather's name. He served with the 2nd Florida Mounted Regiment in the Civil War. Afterward, he came home, packed his wife into a wagon, and was one of the first NorteAmericanos on the Frio River southwest of San Antonio ..... Kinda where present day Dilley is ...
