Holster sizing/stretching trick...

...that seems to work for me.

After I make the holster (which usually comes out fairly snug), I store the pistols in the holsters inside one of the those grey knit Cabelas gunsocks.  This is after the have been damp formed, etc - once they are totally done and dry.

This provides just enough "stretch" so the holster grips the gun but it comes out very easily...and the silicon coated gun sock keeps the leather from affecting the gun (at least so far!).

If the rig is going to be laid up for a while, I'll take the guns out and put them back in a couple weeks before they go back into action.

Any one else ever do this?

Not yet, but it's a sound idea. I use those gun socks to store my pistols in, but never tried them in the holster.

Like Santee said, sounds like a sound idea, when I finish a holster, and after it has been wet molded and then thoroughly dry, I like to train the holster to the gun, depending on how snug a fit I have, but for most cases, I use a piece of 3/4 ounce veg-tan leather and cut a strip the same width as the cylinder and long enough to go around the  cylinder and frame, I'll wrap this strip of leather around the frame and cylinder and stuff the gun down in the holster, I leave in there for several days, taking the gun out each day to check for fit and smoothness of draw, I'll twist the gun as needed to stretch the leather as necessary, and put the wrapped gun back in. this method has work well for me, without allowing the leather to stretch too much. the gun sock is one I'll have to try, I always keep my guns oiled well so if there is any dampness in the leather the gun won't be harmed, so far so good, once I train a holster I never leave the gun in the holster for storage, that's just not a wise thing to do, and your holster would get sloppy over time, and not much time at that, unless it is steel lined, but we don't use this type holster in CAS. even the cowboy of the day didn't leave their gun in there holsters for long periods of time, in most cases they checked their gun daily and wiped them down after all that gun had to be in perfect shape, the cowboys life depended on it.
