Gunslinger new vs old finish

hello i have  a 10 year old gunslinger, i saw auction for a  new gunslinger with the new finish , i like the even color it  looks good ..any way i can even out the old blotchy color.. has anyone tryed or worked on this finish thanks

I think you'll find it would have to be totally re polished and then re antiqued.  It's my understanding that the process they use today is a little different

Gary Grainger told me that they went to the new finish because the guy doing the original finish got tired of dressing up in a Hazmat suit to work on the guns. Apparently, the new fiinish is less toxic to achieve. I like it much better anyway. Not entirely clear to me, however, why a Gunslinger costs $400 plus more than a Rodeo when you can buff down a Rodeo finish and it looks just like the new Gunslinger finish.
