Cavalry Twist - how I do it

The recent topics about double crossdraw reminded me that I took some pics a few years ago of how I draw my guns when wearing butt-forward, so I put them into a webpage.  I move the left side holster in front of my hip when it is time to shoot and draw that one as a crossdraw, then do the cavalry twist with my right side gun.  But I holster it in a different manner which is more comfortable to me by grabbing the top of the gun with my left hand and reversing the grip with my right hand so I am holding the gun upside down, then into the holster.  Pics show it better:

Looks good to me.  But you have to satisfy the RO's. So long as you don't break the 170, you should be alright.  What gets me is that most shooters wearing  high ride holsters butt rear and long-barrelled guns generally break the 170 whenever they draw, as the barrel axis gets inadvertantly tipped to the rear of the trouser seam (vertical).

Does this matter? NO! And neither does slightly breaking the 170 with a butt-rear draw, SO LONG AS THE SHOOTER KEEPS HIS/HER THUMB OFF THE HAMMER SPUR UNTIL THE GUN IS POINTED DOWN RANGE!  The ONLY way a SA revolver, with the hammer correctly down on an empty chamber and the HAMMER FULLY FORWARD, is...if somebody hits you with a FLAME THROWER!  :o

Ride to the sound of the guns, but watch out for bushwhackers! Godspeed to all in harm's way in the defense of Freedom! God Bless America!
