This was posted on another site by someone and I thought it was interesting so post for your enjoyment.  It is made by Maverick Leather and though unusual in construction it shows really nice workmanship.

SGT John Chapman

It does look really good,...only thing I would be affraid to use it a lot and wear the lace through.

It does look really cool though.
Regards,
Sgt Chapman

Holden A. Grudge

Interesting.  Looks like the pistols go go either butt forward or rearward without changing the holsters around.

Howdy Pards,

I am new (to the forum and to leather work), wondering if the laces on the holsters are painted or hardened in some way?

Howdy, Olen. Those laces may be just burnished slightly after assembly but someone with a better eye for lace might now more. Welcome to the forum. This is a great bunch to hang with. Looking forward to your posts.

Great place you have here, Will.

I will continue to skulk around, read and look at pictures. I have learned more in eight hours here that I ever thought possible. At this point my stuff does't rise above summer camp kit work so I likely won't do more than admire the handiwork of all these talented cowhands and ask lots of questions.

Just as Will has I Welcome you to our forum pard, we're glad to have you with us, feel free to join in, or just ask questions, in the picture you're looking at of the laced holsters, the shinny lace appears to have been coated with a glossy finish, probably to protect the lace from wear, being that the lace is in the center and furthest out on the holster, it would take a little more scuffing than if it were to the side and out of harms way. IMHO.

I could be wrong, but, it looks like it may be lined and the lacing actually gathers the outer layer. If so, that it would be a bit of a bear to lace, but it is very sharp.
The first step of becoming a good shooter is knowing which end the bullet comes out of and being on the other end.
