I just put my Birdshead order in today at the Custom Shop. It will be 45 Colt, 4 3/4 barrel, b/cch, and walnut grips. I don't know if I can wait five months.

Is the grip like the originals or have they changed it up? Out of curiosity what did it cost, roughly, if you don't mind me asking. Did you just call the custom shop and tell them what you wanted? I have always admired the thunderer/lightening revolvers.

Here's my custom shop SAA with Birdhead grips. Not a cheep gun, but worth every penny and ever day you have to wait!

The way my gun was ordered it was ~1100.00 in up-charges tacked onto the base price of the SAA.
