I just ordered me a pair of the SASS Ruger New Vaquero in .357. I have read just a little about these and really had no intention on getting some buy my son will be starting SASS soon and figured he would use the .38spl caliber.

I know these have the low hammer and wider rear site.......but what else?

Do they have factory jobs or are they pretty much ready?

If you own a pair of these......did you do anything to them or just take them and start shooting them?

I will of course shoot them first and I know they can all differ but just looking for a general consensus

"Do they have factory jobs or are they pretty much ready? "  I assume you mean factory action job.  No, they do not.  However, the New Model Vaquero comes from the factory sprung lighter than the old model.  They run pretty good out of the box.  However, like all factory guns they can be improved.  You have an excellent pair of guns that will serve you well.  If you or your son become highly competitive you will want action jobs.  Picked this one up last week.  I know I'm going to use this one for competition.  So it will get a complete going over before the first shot goes down range.
