Howdy,

Do many of you use a FIEBINGS 1/4 LB BLACK LEATHER EDGE BURNISHING WAX BAR? Is it suppose to be hard like a rock? I thought it would be a little soft like wax or paraffin.

I have never seen or used one but for edge burnishing I would think it would be hard.

I have seen an edge coat applicator that looks like a shoe polish bottle with a foam pad on it. I used edge coat one time to match a holster; I won't use it again. It's like putting a coat of plastic on the edges, or at least that was what it seemed like to me. I used it straight out of the bottle with a Q tip. I forgot about it in my earlier post.

I have not used the product you speak of.  I find that a hard wax can somtimes be too hard to get to apply without damaging/rolling the ege.

Glycerin bar works real well but needs to be waxed over or it can wash out later

Egg White is very nice for making a real hard, shiny edge ..but it will not flex very well (seems to surface crack the ege if bent very far.

One that I have tried is  Rons Tools.. called "Edge Rub"... http://www.ronstools.com/products.htm This stuff is GREAT!... it will give you a glass hard edge with just a little rubbing with a piece of canvas. Kind of spendy for the kit, but it sure saves time and still gives that natural edge.. (not the paint on plastic Kote product) You can still dye the edge too.

His edgers are also the very best in the business. No3 is a good chioce for an
all Purpose edger.

If you want some of his stuff don't wait too long though. The last time I talked to Ron, he was hinting at closing the doors >:(

I bought one in black, at the leather store. You can google it . It will show what it looks like. I just hoped somebody had used it. Its hard like a rock. Once you strat rubbing dard it looks pretty good.
