Testing .44 MAV boolits

I tested the .44 MAV Big Lube boolits on Saturday. I loaded up 100 in .44WCF cases with 36grs of FFFg. They are sized to .429". Pan lubed with 50% animal fat and 50% candle/parrifin wax. They were shot outta a Uberti Henry with a 24" barrel. I shot from cross sticks in a sitting position. I started shooting at 100 yards but moved the target to 50 yards because of the crude sights on the Henry don't do anything for accuracy. The sights are definitely not for punching paper farther than CAS main match ranges.  I might put a tang sight on it to see what it's true potential might be. But, anyway, the first 59 shots were at 100 yards the rest (targets 7-10) were at 50 yards. I think the black targets are 3" in diameter.

On target 9, I had a flyer to the left that hit my metal fence post and took a chuck outta it.

looks like some of my target posts, Slim. I've got some 12x12-13 plates in a somewhat softer steel that really didn't hold up to a 45-70 impact at about 135 yards. Put one heck of a dent at the upper edge. Who says ya gotta have jacketed bullets?.......Buck
