That's a reasonable price, but not a barn burner. If you don't need the extra cylinder you can purchase a basic Model P clone from EMF (
www.emf-company.com) for $399. You can purchase various other models such as the 1875 Remington for $450.
Another source at similar prices is Taylors and Company.
All of these basic guns will likely need action work, so that will add probably another $100. You can buy guns with the action tuning, improved springs and sights, etc. from any of these manufacturers. Prices start at about $600 for those. You can also go to Long Hunter (
www.longhunt.com) and purchase pre-tuned guns from Ruger, Taylors or USFA (my personal favorite - made 100% in the USA) starting at about at anywhere from $610 to $625, depending on the manufacturer. Long Hunter is a really nice guy that produces quality products. You can't go wrong doing business with him.
If your budget allows, you'll be much happier with a quality gun with the action work already done.
