Hangtown Frye

That Wells-Fargo ticket is WAY cool, Rick!  Of course what I find exceptional about it is that A.) my brother used to live in Austin, Nevada (a VERY small town on Hwy 50, smack dab in the middle of Nevada), and more importantly B.), we have a relative buried in the cemetery there.  And he was, if my memory serves me correctly, buried in 1868! (I could well be wrong on this, checking with my brother on that particular).  At any rate, very interesting bit of history to discover in a bag of "junk" at the thrift store!  Lucky (and smart!) you!

BTW. Wow!  $96 in REAL money for the ticket.  THAT was a lot of money in those days.  About 3 months wages or so? Ouch...

Edited to add: I was only 9½ years off on that date: my G-Grandfather's cousin died and was buried in Jan. of 1877.  Oh well, so much for my memory of dates!

Cheers!

Gordon
