Pietta Colts......ASSY. Revisited...............

How is the base pin attached to a Pietta 1858 brass frame "Colt"? My cylinder hs a bunch of nort west travel. Need fix.
The problem is the pin the cylinder rides on is loose. I Take it I' SOL?

If it's brass it is unlikely the base pin is bad.  What is more likely is that heavy loads have partially pulled the base pin out of the threads in the brass frame.  Once the threads are damaged replacing the base pin usually won't fix the problem.  Before you spend a whole lot of time and money try to get someone familiar with C&B's to look at it.  Since its brass, fixing it may cost more than the gun is worth.
