Hey folks! Long story short, I am in need of a Marlin 1894 .38/.357 bolt, complete or stripped.

Yep.
Marlin won't give me ANY idea over the phone if they even have a bolt in stock, let alone what they would charge me to fit it to my rifle - "Box it up and send it to us via insured transport, and our technicians will inspect it and send you a written estimate."
"And just what does the inspection cost?"
"I don't know, sir, it depends on how much is wrong and how long it takes to evaluate it."

From what I've read in a couple spots online, this "inspection" is in the neighborhood of $50 - $75... plus ~$25 to ship it... plus, what... $75 or so for the bolt, plus another hour to install & fit it... maybe around $200 - $250 to have a new bolt installed, IF they even have one. It's a pretty sure bet they don't have the properly finished CBC bolt I need, so it would likely have to be fitted with a plain blued one.

what is this rifle doing or not doing?   The bolt it self is many componets, Numrick and Brownells both offer replacement parts for the bolt. This model is a mainstay to Cowboy shooting, there's probably someone in Helena that could fix it with out shipping and waiting for an estimate

Unless your a certified gunsmith the Manafacturer is not going to give you the information on the phone, it's for their protection from the Blood-hounds

I believe Adirondak Jack was right at the SASS wire. About the problem.  I wouldn't waste my time and money sending it to Marlin, I would get a local smith to fix it.  Lumpy Grits or another stated pretty much what i said about them not selling you the part.
