777 FFG price info....
« on: June 28, 2005, 03:37:17 PM »
I posted a while back on TFS asking about prices for 777 FFG.  Got varying resonses, but most pards indicated paying upwards of $20 a lb, not to mention the dreaded sales tax.

Around here, my LGS said they could do nothing better than $21.95 a lb, which is $23.54 or some such with tax.

Well, somebody pointed me to Powder Valley, and I just got off the phone with them, and 10 lbs, delivered, including shipping and hazmat, cost me $192.  That's over $4 a pound savings.  Now that includes a $20 hazmat, so if ya went in with a pard and bought 20 lbs, ya'd save another buck a pound.

If you just got 10 lbs. I'm going to guess that means we converted you to the Darkside  ;D

Jack, welcome to the Sooty Side and much thanks.  Your follow up post jiggled my marbles - I got a can of FFg under the bench that I have'nt used in over a year.

And I got these DD/PRS 400 and 500 grainers that are kind of hard getting the full load of Goex into the cartridge.  Just looked up the 777 data and it only takes 60gr for both the boolits .... hmmmm.  Me's thinks that this can is going to get used up  ;D

BTW ... I looked at the price tag on the can of mine ... $26.95 a pound in Jersey for FFg

John Boy, I suspect yer gonna get good accuracy with the 777 as well (less fouling issues).
