Greetings,
I saw this Sheriff Model at GM for $559. The cylinder has turn line and  holster scuffing. It has original box ,bag, manual etc. I called USFA and they said it was made in 2000 which means it has some Italian parts. Considering the price of a new one this doesn't seem bad. Any thgoughts? Frankness is welcome.
Thanks - Stan

I believe I would spring for it....I like it

I have an early prototype, of conversion make by/for USP FA I know it's Italian linage, it was made in 92.
Fine shooter too and aside from replacing the Firing pin ( * I though was the suspect in soft hits ) it's been flawless in operation.

Yep! I'd go for it, if I had the chance or change.  Neat looking USFA.

For what it is worth, I have one from when they called themselves United States Patent Firearms and even has Uberti stamped underneath the barrel, I feel it is every bit as well made as my other USFAs.

I have one just like it that was made around 2005 and it is one of my favorites!

Anybody know when they stopped using Italian parts and went to doing everything in house?

My understanding is that during 2001-2002, new CNC equipment was purchased to bring everything in house.  I would think that 2002-2003 would be a safe place to say that USFA products were 100% American Made.  I have some models from 2003 that would agree.

You can buy a brand new, current production, USFA Sheriff's Model in full polished Dome Blue for about the same amount.  There are five listed on Guns America by Robertson Trading Post.
