I tried it a couple of times just looking at a symbol and it didn't work.  It did work when I followed the directions.  WIERD!

That's a simple mathmatical algorhithm, and careful use of symbols.  You'll note that if you follow the directions, ever number where that works out is the same symbol.

Doc is right on this one.  Note the symbol next to the number "0".  That is the symbol that will always appear.  Note the symbols for the numbers, 9, 18, 27, 36, 45, etc.  Following the instructions, your answers will always be a multiple of 9 to the number 81 (9x9).
