R.O.A. Loading Lever

Recently got my pair of Old Army going, and I was wondering.

What kind of extension can I use/get to get more leverage on the loading lever for a 5 1/2" barrel?

Shot a 5 stage monthly match back in June, and the palm of my hand was hurting for a number days.

Looking to get the tower of power at some point, but not now.

What says you??

 A friend of mine fabricated a space age plastic extension that you slip over the rammer and it really saves your hand. I'll see if I can send him a note.

Piece of Delrin rod with a hole in it.

Yes the drilled out piece of Delrin rod works well for most replica (or original) Cap 'n Ball revolvers.

However the 5-1/2" ROAs Rammer has that reinforcing web that's built onto it that requires that cross section to be replicated in the cavity.

Back when I got my pair of short barrelled ROAs I immediately saw the need and addressed it.

Go to the local hardware and buy 50¢ worth of rubber hose that will fit over the lever.

Actually, the rammer extension for the Colts is harder to make.  Hole has to be shaped like Saturn.  ROA only needs one extra cut.

For my snubbie US Marshall I just bored a 3/8"or 1/2" hole into the end of a hardwood dowel. Worked fine.

Sounds like you're using .457 balls. Try .454 or even .451's.
