Qball, knowing PUK, he probly aint got no smokeless.
Back to the question, pistol or rifle primers will happily set off B/P.
The nitro converted cylinders (similar to Richards Conversions) I have, use shotgun primers, and one of our BWSS members has developed replacement nipples that take shotgun primers for B/P loads, which gets rid of shattered caps syndrome.

Yup they are Small pistol primers Yer bang on the money there pard  Holy Black ALL THE WAY!!
When I get a chance I`ll show piccies of the loading-unloading tools.      Its reeel quick!!

Ya hit the nail sqaure on the head there pard. I Lurv my opentops BUT the caps were a reeel pain apart from the jamming problem I had a cap fragment come back OVER my glasses!! mustsa hit my forehead `n dropped down!! also the occasional  ole burning fragment in the palm of the hand jobbie did not do a lot for me!!
Now ALL of those probs are history.
