Someone must have solved this one already but I'm having trouble finding a case trimmer which will handle 50-95. The problem is really one of finding a cutter large enough to cover 0.52 inches.

My Lyman 7862000 won't do it, the Lyman Accutrimmer only goes up to 460 and the Lyman BMG is set up only for BMG, or so I read.

Any suggestions?

Is a trim die available for this caliber ??

Get hold of RCBS.  They  may have a Trim and File die for that caliber.  I use one for my 45-75 and other obsolete calibers also.  Just contact them and find out.

I believe Forster Products has what you need.  Chek their site and you probably won't find a better price than at Midsouth.  I would recomend you buy the long trim base.

My Lyman Universal trimmer works on 59=95. I've made a lot of cases from Starline 50-90 Sharps cases;but I'm now using

Jamison 50-95. Much easier!

I also have a file trim die from C-H/4D.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for those suggestions guys. I will follow up with RCBS re a csae trimming die, although I notice there isn't one listed in their 2010 catalog, and CH4D. Had a look at the Forster trimmer on the web site and that looks just the right thing. They recommend their standard base to suit this short case (my new Bertrams are 1.865 once fired). I have a Lyman Universal trimmer and, while the cutter is just slightly above 515 in dia and should work, the chuck won't accept a 50-95 case which is 615 dia at the rim. I asked Lyman about it and they said that's the way it is. Cheers

HELLO
MY LYMAN TRIMMER WORKS FINE, THE CUTTER DIA. IS PLENTY LARGE. I DID MAKE A .515 DIA.  PILOT ON MY MY LATHE TO ELIMINATE WOBBLE. THE .348 BRASS DOES FIT THE CHUCK ON MINE.

I too use a Lyman Universal trimmer for my .50-95 cases.  I had to open up the opening in the Universal chuck just a tad with a dremel in order to get the cases in.  Took less just a few minutes to do.  It works like a champ now.
