Howdy All,
I have shot my 45 75 several times now and was wonderin how Y'all been trimming your cases.
I'm familiar with the process but need to know what equiptment you are using.
It's been quite a while since I have needed to trim rifle brass as I have been shooting CAS with pistol calibers and not felt a need to trim cases.
I'm using Jamison brass and had to some research to come up with right shell holder.
If I am right I must use a system that will accept 50 70 government type case rims as that is the type shell holder that I had to go with.(RCBS#31) Also  a 458 trimmer pilot.

In short what system do you use that fits both ends of your Jamison 45 75 brass for timming to length?

Thanks Ahead for your help

Long Gulch:
I don't know about the lash-up you have or are talking about as I use an RCBS Trim and File die as I do with all my calibers.  It is the simplest and easiest to use but may not be the cheapest.  My shell-holder is the same one that I use when I neck-size my brass.  Get an RCBS catalog and check it out.  If you do get one, you can't go wrong.
When in doubt, mumble!

LG, have you found the Jamison brass to be longer than 1.89 ... after the cases are fireform ... requiring trimming?

John Boy, my fireformed brass is 1.865 - 1.870. Looks like I have one of those rifles that has an oversized chamber that was the subject of a recent thread. I'm not complaining, I like it as I only load BP. The rifle only gets used at CAS side matches and some practice. I may wear out the brass before it needs trimming :). Guess I won't have to do that task for a while.

BTW I took you suggestion from another discussion and use the Lee 340 grain mold. Works great!
Thanks, LG

LG, glad you like it.  Try shooting with it at 300yds.  Prints a nice group
