I've really found a home here. I love shooting BP as I see you guys do to. I would be bored to death with that other stuff with no soul.

I shoot BP for the same reason I fly fish with a bamboo rod and silk line. The old days are hard to beat.

For a guy who professes to  LOVE   black powder and all that goes with it, couldn't you have chosen a better name?   :o

Many people look at me funny when I tell them loading and shooting them new-type smokeless powder is so sterile.  It must take a certain type of gun crank to appreciate it fully.

You're right. I drew a blank when I signed up.   :-\

In talking to another Frontiersman, he confessed that he occasionally shot smokeless. He said: "It kinda feel like I'm cheating when I do".

While at the loading bench yesterday and putting together some rounds to compare with others that are loaded with a different BP I caught myself doing something. I realized that after opening each different brand of BP that the first thing I was doing was smelling the powder. I had to laugh as it reminded me of the days when I pursued the finer single malt scotches that were available to consume. The very first thig you do is smell the cork. I went back and right away noticed a difference between the Goex Express in 3F and the Swiss in 2F. I then smelled a difference in the wano of 2F. What a wonderful thing that this BP sport is. I oinly wish that I had another 100 years to enjoy it!!!

They have a wonderful "bouquet."  Like fine wines.

BP is a lot like a religion, when you shoot smokeless it is almost like sacrilige. There is just something about seeing that cloud of smoke, smell the sulfur, even the occasional errant spark that burns the skin, is like a cleansing ceremony. You are transplanted to another time when you had to make each shot count.
The first step of becoming a good shooter is knowing which end the bullet comes out of and being on the other end.

Today at our club match, one of our founding menebers said to me "It's a good thing for you black powder guys there is some wind in the right direction."  Meaning at our backs.  I told him it'd be more fun if there wasn't any wind.  ;D
