Anybody know if any Cowboy 'Smiths are doing action work on the Burgess?  I tried contacting a few, but haven't heard back yet.

Taylor's has a few in stock, I'm reviewing finances and if need be gonna try and talk my bank account to givin' it up.

God forgives, I don't........

Before you start sweating mods I'd just get it and shoot it.  They are remarkably smooth out of the box.  I took one apart to photograph for an article and there really isn't much to be done unless there are some burrs that need removing.  It cannot be short stroked and the only thing I would do initially is possibly lighten the mainspring just a tad.  Even that isn't bad and it has compound curves so it would be a little difficult to lighten without it sagging and dragging on other parts.

I'm not overly concerned with mod's so to say, but my experience with Italian guns is to have a gunsmith look it over and make sure everything is ok.  Don't like spending a bunch of money, and not having it work right, or break down right away.

Did your write up about this rifle come out yet?  I could swear I seen pictures of you examining the internals over a workbench.
