I see in the SASS handbook that the reactive targets used are to be felled by a standard .38 caliber 158 grain bullet.  The club that I have shot at uses reactive targets for shotgun, but not for rifle and pistol.  I see that one of the online ammo suppliers offers a .38 caliber 125 grain bullet for slightly less per box than the 158 grain.  Is it legal to use a smaller weight bullet, and if so, is there a major disadvantage to doing so.

Thanks in advance,

JR

it's legal. With the lighter ones on the KD's, you've got to keep the velocity up to take the KD's over. I believe ER's using 125's or 130's in .357 cases with about 3.1g or so of VV N-320 and a magnum primer. i've only seen a few of the plate racks in this area and the knock over loose plates occassionaly. For my guns, I prefer the 158's or 154 Bonus China Camps.........Buck 8) ::) ;)
I might be slow, but I'm mostly accurate.....
