If Walt makes the conversion it'll be fine. I'd want to check it out in the bullet to case fit and chamber mouth shape and hope to see the actual Colt Patent design incorporated. The design called for a portion of the case and the chamber to be "non tapered" at the case mouth. The Patent design I might add since......the manufactured Thuers,as I understand it, didn't have the "patent design" to the chambers or the cases. That caused the Thurers to be relatively inaccurate since it was difficult to seat a non-tapered  heel to the bullets into a fully tapered case and into a tapered chamber. The bullets would be canted most of the time and not shoot well. The Uberti Thurers I've seen pics of(never in the hand) seem to show a straight walled case mouth and an inside ridge that would seem to be a platform for the bullet to seat to and sit on. I'd hope the bullets would be seated straight and stay that way.
I'd be interested in knowing what Walt Kirsts design incorporates in the case and chamber mouths design.
I know of a Pard that has a converted to Thurer revolver and it was converted to be exact to the originals that.....didn't incorporate the exact Patent design for the case mouths and chamber mouths. The accuracy is difficult to attain by managing to get the bullets loaded straight in the cases. Cases made by the gunsmith that are as the originals...tapered to the end where the heeled bullet seats.
I imagine Thurer did the Patent design well but why not the actual revolver following his Patent design so the guns would have been accurate?
The Thurer didn't go over well. I think it's because people "knew" the percussions and figured since they had to load loose powder and all in them and the Thurer was basicall the same thing only done in a brass case with the tools and the gun apart then....why bother and not just go with what they knew worked? The ease of reloading with pre-made cartridges wouldn't be as easy or fast as slapping in a spare cylinder that's pre-loaded.
Anyway....I'd want a Thurer for the "collection" of cap&ballers I have. I'd also like to shoot one especially if Walt makes it so it does sdhoot good and I bet he will do just that. Walts Thurers will most certainly shoot better than the originals.
