Marlin hammer pump...

 Hi all,   I see in the rules where the only shotgun with hammer to use is a win '97.  I only ask as I just got a mod 17 Marlin shotun with exposed hammer. Its at my smiths getting checked out as I have heard of the 'widow maker'.  I know I can use this in non affiliated shoots, but why is it not allowed in the rules book?  Not complainin', just askin. I searched before asking and came up with very little. Thanks for your time, Bob

Because Marlin put out a notice that some of it's hammer shotguns were dangerous to shoot, so the Wild Bunch banned them all.
