Ned 3 1911 45 mags CHEAP!!!  Bent/dented/old whatever! Just need them to mold mag pouches.
Got any lying around, I'll pay postage!!

Nope, wood soaks up the water and doesn't leave the inside of the leather smooth!

Linseed the wood. Or seal it some other way.
Mags are expensive. Wood forms are cheap to duplicate.

   I use wood/oak for making my magazine molding forms, the wood doesn't soak up any water if you seal the wood, I use a plastic type finish on mine from Min-Wax. I made six of these and they work great, and will last forever.
