Barrel shims question

Howdy All y'all,

I just got a Remmie Hawes parts gun and I'm trying to make'er bark again. Unknown to me (and not discolsed on the auction) the barrel unscrews by hand from the frame. The "good" news is the frame does not appear to be cracked. The barrel gets hand tight about 1/8 revolution past the sights lining up. I do not have a lathe to face the frame or barrel.

Sooo, does anyone know of any available Remmie specific crush rings or shims I can use to tighten the barrel AND realign the sights? It only needs to be a couple of thousandths thick...

Perplexed and learning in TN.

Yul get other advice . . . . so wait for more . . . but I'd file off the front of the frame, screw it in, . . the file as necessary off the butt end of the barrel for correct cylinder end play.  Usually the little clip on the end of the loading arms have enough extra length so that you can shorten it up to make up for the extra turn the barrel has gone into the frame.   Just my $.03 worth.  :)
Beware the man with one gun, he probably knows how to use it.

What I would do for a clunker than I am just trying to get back into shooting condition is remove the barrel and put it muzzle down in a padded vice.  Then take a punch and give it a few good smacks and make a few dimples in the back of the barrel where it meets the frame.  Test it until there is friction before the barrel and the frame get to their installed position.  Remove the barrel CLEAN (degrease) the threads  on the barrel and the frame.  Put red loctite on the threads and put it together.  Align the sights and let it sit for a few hours.

That sounds like a good ( and simple ) solution  :)
