makers mark

Fellas. I had this in mind for my makers mark. I would greatly appreciate ya'lls opinion on it. And please pards, don't be affraid to be honest, even brutal if ya gotta. I only got enough money to do this once, so I'd like ta get it right the first time.

amin, it looks fine to me, if that's what you want, we all have different ideas for our makers stamp, it has to please you first. it's about what information you want to be displayed, name/location etc.

TW, Do most marks have location on them? State, City, Zip? What info is good and what is to much? Seems like I got alotta room left to fill if I want to.

Amin, the only problem I see is the font your using, arial will be easier for the maker to make the stamp with. The more detail, the more expense.

I need to stick with more basic fonts then AC? I will redo it tomorrow with a more common font. Think I'll include the city and state on instead of made in the USA. Thanks AC! Oh! What is the most common size, you all get? 1" x 5/8" or 1 1/4" x 13/16" ?

Mine is 1 1/2" but the make smaller and larger, thats up to youi and where you plan to stamp the leather. I found 1 1/2 gave me more choices, but thats my take. Everyone is different. Good start though.

I agree with AC about the detail. You may want to keep it simple so it looks nice and clean when stamped. A lot depends on the size you are looking to get.

amin, like Dalton said there is a list on makers mark, in the FAX/How Too's, I had to made , and they were made by Gray Ghost Graphics, one is 1" and one is 1 1/2"

I called Jeff at Greyghost. He told me the file to use so he can make the stamp. I redid it today. I am having problems with my Photoshop and illustrator program though. I can't get the scanned image of the logo to convert to a Bitmap so I can trace it as a vector graphic. I may have to redo the logo! Here's the new design. Let me know what you all think of this one. Oh! AC Jeff told me how to save the file to keep so he can make it. Here's the design.

He said he could if I saved the font as curves. I'll see if I can get it all formatted for him. I'm havin trouble still with converting the logo to a vector graphic. I'll get it though! It will just have to wait till tomorrow though. Got to get some work done on these leather projects I got piled up.
