I am making this topic wide enough for folks to add pics from their own museums, or views gathered whilst on vacation;

Thes are snaps taken at the Royal BC Museum in Victoria.
1.  A pair of shotgun chaps.  Pretty ordinary during our time period and in widespread use in Canadian ranching country.
2. A cigar box.  This one must have been custom made for our Pard the Russian Grand Duke!

Those who are no longer ignorant of History may relive it,
without the Blood, Sweat, and Tears.

here's a few more;
1. This is what 1.6 kilos of gold looks like in the wild.
2. Revolver & holster carried by John Bowron.

Who is John Bowron and how did he get my pistol?

Good stuff.  Thanks.

John Bowron was an "Overlander".  They were gold seekers that came overland from Canada, rather than by ship from 'Frisco. (BC was not part of Canada in those days.)

BTW:  I got in trouble with a USN officer from San Francisco.  She really got upset with the term "Frisco".

Tell her you were referring to the one in Colorado or the one in Texas.

Tell her there are many things worth getting bent about and San Francisco simply isn't one of them.  ::)

See, you have to know how to really start a fight properly.  ;D
