Howdy All
Had a customer bring in the shoulder holster to be fixed. I installed a new safety strap.
The old one is a leather hammer tab attached to a piece of elastic cord. You could pull the whole gun out and that does not work in my book.

A JOKE is right, I can't believe a holster maker would do such a thing, I guess if the guy bent over, the gun could fall to the floor and on the way back up he could grab it, that's it," it's an automatic reject feature " ??? ::) ;D ;D ;D ;D

The original maker must not have
worn many shoulder holsters. I
can't figure why any one would
use a thumb tab instead of a
thumbsnap type deal.I'm also
leary of any elastic as it stretches
too easily(mi dos centavos)

You know. The more I think about that the worse it seems. What if the shooter drew that gun, the elastic snagged on the hammer enough to cock it, and then the gun got further ensnared in the elastic, causing it to get dropped... Pretty mighty what if, but.....
Or the shooter bends over, and the gun falls out enough for the barrel to clear, then the hammer is still engaged to the "safety" strap, possibly getting cocked on the way to the ground... :o

So many better options.....
