Well fellas! As some of you know from my previous post, after a little bloodshed I got my holster stitched up for my 1911. I value your opinions, so I listened to you and gave the holster a couple coats of EVOO. Looks good this morning, but it is not real shiny like I thought it would be. Did I do something wrong, or is there another process after I oiling?

I know you guy's said to give it some sun light as well, but I got one little problem. It seem mother nature has allotted us all the sun light we are aloud to have here in Ohio for the month. So this holster may not see the sun until next month! Will it be alright until then?  Seems that it was not meant for the local Cowboy match this month to be held in dry weather as well. I wander, what does Mud do to oiled leather?  :-\  ;D

if you got a little sunshine for it to bath in for a few hours it will get a little darker if you want and at for a finish coat i use Skidmores leather cream that works wonders and after it dries some come in with a soft cloth and buff the hell out of it and it will get a nice glow to it

Amin, nice holster.

I use Aussie beezwax and when it dries..like 316 say's Buff it vigarously fer a burnish look.

Here's a sample of my latest.

I used a Eco-flo veg. Timber Brown dye.

Good luck Pard, ya did a great job.

Montana that's a butty! Love the color, and the shine. The shine looks like what I am after. I've seen the Aussie Wax mentioned on here a lot. Where can I buy it at?

Another holster maker in our area got me to try Fiebing's Carnauba Creme as a final finish.  I'm really happy with the shine it gives.

Fieberlins makes both the carnoba and the Aussie cream.I get mine from Tandy however yer Ranch supply should have those for you in the saddle section...
