March 2010 is the 145th anniversary of the Battle of Bentonville, NC.  This was a battle in which troops armed with Henrys were present and fought.  These included the 66th Illinois WSS as well as the 7th Illinois Veteran Volunteer Infantry and several other Henry armed troops.  If any of you are Civil War reenactors and want to be a part of a Henry Company portraying the 7th Illinois Veteran Volunteer Infantry at Bentonville this year we are looking for interested people.  At present time we have 13 in our Company commanded by Lt. Todd Koster.  If interested e-mail Todd at trk1862@msn.com   for more information.  Keep in mind we will be portraying an infantry company and the uniform will reflect that.  We have members coming from Il, MI, IN, NY,TN.

Bentonville is shaping up to be one great time for the Henrys.  As right now we are up to 18 Henry rifles in our company.  It will surely give the feel of what that many Henry rifles would have sounded like in the Civil War.  It is still not to late to be a part of it.

I'll be there!

Unfortunately, I may be one of the unlucky Rebs that comes up against you  :o  We can only hope to get a few volleys off before we get in range range of that infernal Yankee contraption.

I think that we are up to 22 Henrys in our company, now if all that have signed up will make the event.  It should be an experience having that many Henrys ar an event.  We had 22 for Recasa, GA in 1991.

Well we are only a week out.  It still stands at 22 maybe 23 Henrys for Bentonville.  The company should have approxamatly over 10,000 rounds(blanks) for the event.  It should be interesting. :) :)

I thought I had another 10+ henrys for you  from ohio and georgia,  but it has has fallen through. Keep us  posted on how it turns  out !  Check the spencer forum for the  battle of  selma al. in april.  We are trying to get  spencers/henrys  for it and would love to have  any of you.

What a sight, 23 Henry repeating rifles on line dealing "death" to the rebels.  In taking an unofficial round count, the unit fired over 12,000 blanks, lost 5 simulated dead and 10 wounded in the 2 days of "fighting".  The sound and firepower was very evident as the rebs tried to avoid our company on Sunday. http://44henryrifle.webs.com/

I just want to say that I really like your alias. The Quiet Man is my favorite John Wayne movie.
That's bad business! How long do you think I'd stay in operation if it cost me money every time I pulled a job? If he'd pay me that much to stop robbing him, I'd stop robbing him.

Ya probably inherited every penny ya got!

Well here is our unit picture from Bentonville.  Sure is a lot of Henry rifles.

For those of us that couldnt make it,the photo is  great!  Could you give us more  of an after action report? (ie , tactics , firing by squad, platoon, accouterments, any spencers, etc.)
12000 rounds divided by 23 is 522 a piece for the weekend. WOW!!!! WHAT A  BLAST!!
Hope some of you can make it to Selma.
Best,Don
