Got my Lee 45 acp Die set. The 4 Die set with factory crimp die included.

Now I have loaded up 100 of the 45 special  with a 150 big lube boolit.

For this shooting I am using the APP FFFG powder. I am using 17 measured grains this time because I filled the case to the top last time then seated the boolit which compressed the powder LOTS and it would flat light you on fire !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
RECOIL was unreal. SO I cut the powder charge down this time.

Will report back later on how this worked  ;D

I'm told APP doesn't need or even LIKE like BP lube....but your reporting good results?

It does not need bp lube. However I have had good results with APP and Thompsons PS lube.

Works just fine for me. ;)

I`ve played around with a jug of APP 3F for a few years ..it seems to make it`s own lube when fired .
It`s the only sub I`ve had good results with useing smokeless lubed bullets ...and clean up is a breeze .
The stuff is down right puney in a cap & Baller ..but it gets stout in cartridge loadings .
The 2F APP looks like little rocks ......I`ve tried it but its hard to measure , so I don`t care for it .

I am currently using Pinnacle but understand that it is not being manufactured any longer so when current supplies run out its back to APP for me.  Both have worked equally well for me with the Pinnacle seeming to make a little more of a black dusty residue while reloading but I get a pricing break by combining it with Goex black powder orders.  A 26gr load, by volume, will be a slight over compression under 160gr 45 bullets in the Cowboy or ACP brass.  I would bet that 24grs of fff would still give adequate compression.  My old pair of Pietas are converted with equally old six shot Kirst 45acp cylinders and I really get plenty of attention when loading/unloading these at the bench.
