Is it just my luck, or are guns hard to find right now?

We have one of the largest guns show in the country that comes to town four times a year. This show averages around 1500-2000 tables. At the last two shows there were a total of two Vaquero 45s, one on a dealer table and one for sale by an attendee. I bought one of them used for $450 (SS 5 1/2")

I did just buy a 1858 New Army .44 cap and ball from Cabellas. They have them and the 1860 Army by Pietta on sale for $199.

Shotgun Franklin

I don't check prices but Dury's in San Antonio has several shelves of SAA Clones. Some rifles but I don't know the caliber?
Yes, I do have more facial hair now.

No kiddin... grrr... I called them two weeks ago looking for a stainless 92... none to be found...

Sounds like when I was looking for the second 1858 remington... couldn't find one anyway for months... now all of a sudden I have three of them.

But, gotta move on... I usually buy stuff the day before it goes on sale too... beating ones head against concrete doesn't help.

But, for now, I think I will be happy with the Henry. How does your Rossi 92 work? I hear all sorts of good and bad stories.

I got Steve Young's video to learn about the Rossi 92's... It looked like they need a few hours of tweaking to work right, and email conversations I had with Steve about what spare parts to keep on hand centered around the parts that get weakened during the tuning process.  For instance, the magazine door spring he grinds down to make it less stiff, but then they break more often.

Try their web. I don't know how it shoots yet as I haven't had a chance to shoot it. My wife has one in 357 stainless and it shoots fine as long as ya go ahead and use a little authority when ya  shoot it. WM

Wildman... it's a done deal now. It's sitting there waiting for me to pick it up at 10AM . I'll have to do a review of it when I get a chance to try it out.

Got it... sure is pretty... maybe I can try it out tomorrow it it doesn't rain.

Did ya get SS? I'm waiting on a Biglube mold for mine cause I'm shooting BP. I have loaded some jacketed SWC with some smokeless just ta see how it shoots until I get the mold from DD.  I'm thinkin it probably won't feed right with the SWC but I really want ta try it and the two Vaquaros.  ;D WM

Wildman, I meant the Henry Big Boy is a done deal.... brass receiver, blue steel elsewhere is the only way they come.  It made it home, may try it tomorrow if the rain isn't too bad.

Yup, they are saying that much needed rain will start right about now (it is dripping here and there) and last for several days.

The club I belong to has covered shooting positions on the outdoor ranges, so as long as it isn't pouring I will try it out in the AM.
