Rinaldo A. Carr grip date?

Anybody here know which date is stamped on the grip panel of the Rinaldo A. Carr?

I figured that somebody on here would have one of these, maybe this model is not that popular?  Anyways, I found one for sale on an auction site, and it appears that the date is 1901.  It even appears to have the mis-matched serial numbers of a rebuilt gun.

Did RAC only inspect rebuilt SAA's, or did he also inspect new SAA's at the Colt factory?
