PAncho, that is the same sight I have on a 1866 Carbine, 44-40. Benched, at 50 ft, it's capable of keeping 10 shots on a 6" paper plate. I do favor my 1866 Rifle (used at the Nats) for longer range work / offhand. It still has the factor sight. The rifle fits me better and probably why I use it often...guess I just shoot it better.

Weather finally permited some range testing.  Using 200 gr smokeless .45 S&W loads:  I consistantly made 5" 3 shot groups at 50 yards.
