I've had the honor of seeing George Jones in concert 4 times. The first time I seen him I was 13 years old. It was an awesome concert. Start studded as well. Loretta Lynn, the late Conway Twitty, and George Jones. I'll never forget it. Seen George again with Randy Travis opening for him, and another time with Confederate Railroad, and Diamond Rio. Then the last time I seen him was another big one with three headliners. Alan Jackson opened, followed by George Strait then George Jones. No doubt you are gonna have a great time Rick. He never puts a bad show, unless he doesn't show up for it! They did used to call him no show Jones ya know!  ;D He is awesome to see in concert. Now about the autograph on your guitar.

YOU GOT TO SEE MERRILL HAGGARD!!!!!!!!!!?????????? I have always wanted to see the Hagg in concert but he never toured to any place other than large taverns in my area when I was a kid. So I could never go.  :'(  Have fun at the concert Rick.

Merle is around here all the time i think, his kids usually play and sing at a saloon in Tulare,Ca.about 5 minutes away.I could probably see them anytime i wanted,i just don't go to saloons anymore at least the last 30 years..I got Merles autograph and the same night got his sons Noel, they were both playing and i enjoyed Noel alot ,he had his own sound i just don't think he wanted to fool with the bussness.I wanted to buy a cd but he didn't have any there,i asked him what's up with that? Something about not being able to sell as his dad was the headliner so to speak, but it was just for a farmers group to get funding i think, the last i heard Merle was growin kiwis around here somewhere..Now Willy Neslon is the funnest dude to chat with ya ever saw and he will chat..Seen him a few times and met Kristofferson too and got sigs on a 5 dollar bill, now that's how ya make money grow ;D Worth 500 or more to me anyway..

Jones is playin at the casino in Lemoore and it looks like it might be close and personel type venue.Lord.let me get The Possums autograph ;D ;D ;D

What does he perform from a rockin' chair?  :)

I just saw Merle at the Crystal Palace Jan 1. One of his kids did the sound and he said the youngest one, he was playing with the band. It was an OK show, he forgot the lines a couple times and his wife (wife?) was on stage too. Shes younger than his kids. Hmmm.

You will have a good time, if you don't get lost in the fog.  ;D

How come you never asked me to sign your geetar?

Can ya sing Howdy? Yea how do ya like that blonde wife of hissin,i saw them when they first got together the day i got Bonnie Owens sig, they were in Porterville, talkin to Bonnie  was like talkin to your mom.Now his youngest might be the one he had with the blond wife, but i don't know if he would be old enough yet. There is an old saloon about a 4 miles from me that they all used to play at called Mills Grove, they all went through there when they started out according to my folks. You might say that's where the idea for me was brought about ;D Twinkle twinkle in dads eye, shoulda been countin the ones in the sky~~~That was the end of life as he knew it ;D

Tomorrow Monday 1-18, I am off to tour Jay Leno's Garage. My daughter won the tour by outbidding everyone at a charity auction and it was a Christmas present for me and my son in law. After that they are taking us to watch the taping of his show and we are getting special seating for that, but it is that garage that has me excited. I have been checking that garage website for two years now and checking out all his cool bikes and cars. I hope I don't get thrown out for drooling.  :)

Just in case I get on camera at the show, I am going to wear a red plaid shirt. Not many fools will wear one of those.  ;D

It says on the sheet that there is no guarantee Jay will be there, but if he is, then we can do some bonding, since he and I graduated from the same prep school in New Hampshire................. and I know the secret handshake.  8)

Sorry Rick, but they allowed no cameras of any type including cell phone ones. The place was bigger than I though 600,000 feet in four buildings. Jay was not there, the guy that gave us the tour said he had been there 21 years and his job was to try to find old parts for the restorations. There was about 250 cars and 160 motorcycles. Some steam engines and a great machine shop and also a paint booth. First class operation if you were to restore old cars and build hot rods. I did see Bernard, he runs the garage, but I did not talk to him. They said Jay does not go to the shop in the mornings when he works, but goes there after the show tapes and stays late. In the garage was a soda fountain setup and Jay cooks up food there and makes a night of it. The guy that gave us the tour asked how we got the tour, they don't do it often. So, I feel like I got to see what not many have. After we went to the taping of the show. They had Ringo on, you probably like him. That was fun to do and at least it was indoors, because it rained like crazy in LA area yesterday. It was different, it was fun.

Just another thing to grin about when I have nothing to do but stare at the inside lid of the coffin.  ;D

Hey Rick!
I just saw "The Possum" here in Reno last night ;D ;D He has slowed a little, not as "spry" as the video you posted. His voice was just gettin' warmed up to sing all the low stuff. Hope fully he has all the "frogs in his throat" cleared out by the time he gets down to Lemoore.  He put on a good performance and I treated my mom as we have seen him together in Hollywood "House of Blues" a few years ago. I didn't know I was goin' to see George until 6:15 AM Friday morning when I won some tix from local radio station. :D He has some "young blood" in his band a fiddle player that was excellent  ;D
You will enjoy and good luck with gettin' his autograph!! :) :)

He's 76yrs young though ;D
He still puts on a good show and sings most of the great tunes over his long career. He's playing Redding tomorrow and his voice should be warmed up by Leemore. We were the 1st stop. He did make reference to his smoking for many years (has since quit now) and "The Hag" knows 1st hand also. Have seen Merle twice as well but not recently.
We enjoyed his show and YOU WILL too  8) 8) DON'T NO-SHOW  :P

No, I didn't sorry  ???
I would try to get there early & trap some roadies settin' up the show maybe 'Ol Possum would do it before or after.
I know they have some sort of "meet & greet" program before the show. I waitin' to grab a drink and an older couple had mentioned they had just met George. The lady was "over the moon" tellin' me about it.  You'll get 'r done I got faith in 'ya ;D

When i got Trace Atkins that's what he was doin, but ya had to be a member of the fan club.I was sittin by the stage and looked to my left and a guy with a long pony tail was standin next to me,i went,HOLY CRAP,that's Trace right there!I showed him my geetarr and he said nice,i then handed him a felt tip pen.. ;D I was sittin on a jersy wall and i knew the security guard, which sort of looked the other way.Tulare County fairgrounds.
