How to use EVOO as finish?

I oil then put in the sun asap. I don't leave it more than 15 min at a time.

Larrupin, as you can see, we all have slightly different ways of doing things, this is what is so nice about working with leather, you continue to learn from others as you go along, one thing I try to do if I'm not sure about a new process or technique, is to test what I plan to do on scrap leather first, using the same leather from your holster or work piece, this will let you know how it will turn out, before you go ahead on the real deal, just my .02 cents worth

Hey TW,

There's always more than one way to skin the cow I guess.  I actually like learning all the different ways people do it and I will probably wind up with my own variation.  I just wish the sun would come out around here so I could try he suntan effect.

I am learning as I go on this set about the EVOO and that's OK cause they will be used for cowboy shoots and won't be babied around so if the finish isn't perfect tha'ts fine.  I have 3 very light coats on so far but I definiteley want them to  be darker which will come with more coats and sunshine.  The strip of leather between the two holsters is from the original hide to give a color reference so far.

 Those are lookin real good pard.  You might want to wait for that sun before you go any further, unless you want them real dark.
