Re "knowin when to stop"
that is one reason I did the SemiChrome polish route. (if ya used Semichrome on the piston top, it would have looked like it was chromed) Anyways, the drill and mop bit is easy and somewhat slow, but it doesn't take too much off too quick.

Thanks for the info. I had to remove the aft side plate screws they ran across the receiver into the butt stock. Next up is to try to diss assemble the receiver. So I can do some deburring and polishing. Anybody have any tips as to how to procede ???
