Got some ordered.  Thank you for the info.  When I was in SanAntonio, TX last week, I stopped in an old gun store (forgot the name) & they had 2 boxes w/ 20 each of Winchester 30-40 Krag.  I bought it.
TAKE CARE,
Red Leg Russ

Texas Lawdog

I bought two boxes of Winchester factory stuff from an individual a couple of months ago. At that time none of the dealers that I contacted had any. I need to purchase some more brass and persuade someone with 30/40 dies to load me some lead ammo.

I thought that was average for a trip to the convinience store, by Texas standards...... ;D

Texas Lawdog

I guess that's about right on the mileage.

Well I aquired a Springfield model 1898 30-40 Krag Rifle Sunday.  It was made in 1901.  I also picked up dies so now I'll need brass, bullets and work on loads.  Texas Lawdog maybe we can work a deal on getting you some rounds loaded after I get set up and start cranking on my dillon.

Gentlemen,
If any of you are coming to the Department of the Missouri Muster, you can probably expect to lose a few rounds of brass during the shoot and move stages.  I always use my oldest, raggedy brass for matches, and my good stuff for practice.

Old, raggedy 30-40 brass? ALL i have is 100 once fired, that I used last Muster.......Only ragged brass I have is regular cowboy calibers.....

I used to pick up odd lots of Krag brass off Ebay before they went Marxist.  You shouldn't lose too many, but I've seen some people treat brass like it's the Holy Grail.  (Of course, if you shoot something like a .577-450, it's about the same price!)

If there's any 577-450 brass out there we'll probably be tripping over it.... ;D

I don't know how much 30/40 brass I have. I've got 2 boxes of Winchester Factory Ammo, but not anything else. I need to get in touch with Cowtown Scout when he gets set up.
