Very nice book with period pics.A few are very well known (Roy Bean and his Saloon, some Texas Ranger's pics ).
Most of the pics are new for me, and comes from author's private collection.
You can find this book here

That book will make a nice addition to my books on the Texas Rangers.

TL,
I've seen either this book or one very similar to it in the Texas section of the Barnes & Nobles at the Parks Mall here in Arlington. They have a number of books there on old and new aspects of our Great State. It's an excellent place to go and browse before you buy.

Kevin, I'm an Old Texas Lawman. I wonder if my picture is in there?

I just had to respond to the 'not that old' comment:

I was due for retirement in 10 days when they cancelled all retirements for Desert Storn.

In my mid forties, I suddenly found myself in my first war (at King Khalid Military Center).

As a MSGT I had little to do but supervise ... and as a woodworker I ended up making a lot of tables and stools for our unit.

Occaisionally, though, one of the one-or-two-stripers would look at the Master Parachutist and Master Crewmember wings, take in the MSGT stripes, and intone, only half kidding;

"Gee, Master Sergeant, did they use mules to do this when you first came in the Service?"

WWE,
Whatever you do, please don't upload a picture of one of the stools you made to this forum. If you do I'll have to make a comment about it being WWE's "Stool Sample." The thread can only go downhill from there.

Kflach,

I was a medic in the service and an aide on the outside ... and as far as stool samples go, been there and done that.

Now that I am 'retired', I don't even go near there either ... *S*
