Just a little heads up for anyone looking to snip off 1 1/2 coils off the break open spring on their Stoeger SxS.  My experience is that after 1K rounds the spring fatigued and would alow the barrel to break open a bit after the first shot - I'd just have to snap it back down and then shoot the second round.  I also had some misfires w/ light primer strikes possibly b/c it wasn't shut tight.  I just added a little washer over the pin (8/32" washer I think) to put more pressure on the spring.  This solved the problem.   I know Maurader's web site refers to removing 1 1/2 coils but I'd just remove 1 coil if I was to do it again.  I bought the shotgun new in 2005.  Just trying to help out.

Thanks for the info . I'll add it to my Stoeger file.
