Well this came to me from my father and to he from his and the important questions about it were never asked before he was ill and passed now it's up to books, Internet.

The cartouche are EAW and DAP there's also a triple 000
Serial 1393x

My search turned up dap being dwight a perkins 1862, an inspector I believe and eaw being e.a.Williams 1865.

No ESA cartouche from what I found that would have been refinished at springfield?? to get an ESA cartouche.

This is also a relative in my family history

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Ferguson_(New_Brunswick_politician)

Being that the serial numbers don't align with the some 2000 that John a Macdonald had brought up.

Also being there were twins in my family and one went west and one south to visit relatives in California and Oregon area so I'm thinking that's how my canadian family got an American marked carbine...any additional information is appreciated.

Thank you two flints for the help with pictures...I'm not very tech savvy.

Also I'm currently in contact with the srs regarding any info but has anyone here dealt with the srs recently. Just wondering what to expect really..

As requested in other threads here's a few more pics of my spencer...I'm getting closer to finding it's origin as the other thread I "revived" has one only a few few hundered away and hopefully that person's still active.
