I have a favorite '61 navy by Replica Arms. I've had it for over 40 years and it has real sentimental value. Unfortunately the bore sustained damage during long term storage. Can anyone recommend where I can get it relined with a quality liner and at a fair price?

                                                                  Thanks, J.L.

Unfortunately barrel lining isn't as cheap as it used to be!

I can't find .38 cal barrel liners any where. Redman makes .17 .22, .32-20, .38-40, and .44-40 thats it no pistol calibers. and the .38-40 is just about useless if you don't allready own a .38-40 reamer as both Manson and Clymer are so busy they are unwilling to make any.

I am in the proces of relining an 1861 to .357 but I had to start with a Shilen blank in 1.25" diameter.
with all the work involed in turning it down to an appropriate size for a liner the cost of lining is going way up.

To reline your barrel, you will need a blank with a bore diameter of .375. Shilen blanks start at $125 so I would expect the job to cost somewhere in the $300 range.

You may be better off buying a new Uberti and learning to love it. :)

If any one out there knows of a source for pistol caliber liners, I would truely like to know.

Didn't Uberti make the Replica Arms guns?  If so, get a replacement from VTI.

If Frontier Arms is an Uberti, a new barrel from VTI is the way to go!! $115 plus shipping.

Try this link to Numrich. They are showing a barrel liner that may fit the bill for $22 (16" long).

Before you get a barrel liner make sure you have the right diameter.  If your 61 is a cap and ball the bore is .375 and not the .357 in the commonly found .38 liners.  The liner would cost more than the gun is worth.  Unless the rifling is completely gone, the gun will shoot just fine even if the bore is pitted.

Thanks guys. My groove diameter is .375 and I have since learned that Track of the Wolf carries the correct liner and they are sold by the inch (four dollars and change per inch).
