Wanna Look at my ring ;-)

Happy Boxing Day pards  .....
Well here`s a piccie of the breech  mouth of my new (To me), #92



When I test cycled the action rds. were snagging in the mouth of the breech upon inspection I saw what appears to be a ring about 1/16th just inside, when I lift the rd slightly it chambers jest fine!! I looked at my  #92 in .45
and there is no visible ring



Soooooo   is this ring an annoying blemish that I need to polish out or is it  necessary iffn ya wanted ta feed .38 (Which I don't),  Jest to add I`ve polished and slightly throated my .45

PUK;  In my 1866 YB in .38 I can't use a semi-wadcutter bullet or it hangs up.  I have to use a RNFP, in my case an RCBS 38-140-RNFP.  Others may work, just avoid that little ridge at the bullet shoulder.

`preciate yer reply pard, FWIW I use a 158 RNFP I jest don't like ikky pikky smokepoles!! They gotta eat what I put out fer em!!

As far as I can see there wont be any nasty comebacks iffn I smooth that ridge, I`td be the same as my .45.

However......... iffn there are any pards out thar who feel That smoothin it would be iffy please feel free ta chip in!!

First up...........         A Very Happy (`n` safe) New Year to all from me `n` Annie `O`

I decided to go ahead and smooth that ridge out (It really was just like doing my ole 1911 back when we could be trusted with cartridge guns)!!!      I also throated it jest a tad, It fed Brill!! apart from the odd hang up as the case was about 3/4 of the way into the chamber!! I`d back off on the lever a tad and then it closed just fine!! This had me confooozed Soooooooo, I stripped her down agin and low `n` behold there was a burr on the lever/bolt hole!! I have now dressed it and tomorrow I`ll put it back together agin!!
