I have a pair of Thunderers with the knurled base pin screws and they have been working loose so last week I ordered a couple of the slotted base pin screws from Cimarron. The screws came in today and low  and behold they do not fit. not even close.
They are significantly larger than the knurled screw but while I was pondering the situation i noticed that the knurled screw looked like it was actually too small for the base pin hole. it seems to have a lot of play until it bottms out. Has anyone noticed this . I will call Cimarron back on Monday but something looks fishy to me. The knurled screw will tighten  up but doesnt look to be a good match iether just on the loose side.
The screws they sent me will not even srtart.
I noticed on the parts list that there are two screws listed  for the base pin one of which is listed as "old Style" does anyone know what this refers to.

Uberti has a nasty habit of changing dimensions of parts.  There are two different base pin screws for the Black Powder frame guns.  It depends on when the were manufactured.  Either Cimarron or VTI gunparts can get you the correct screws to fit your gun.  Those funny knurled base pin screws were primarily for assembly.  If you have the boxes the guns came in, there are usually the flush type screws stuck into the box interior.

Coffinmaker is correct,,,or at least I found the same thing to be true. On my old style frame SAA,,,the kurled screw was in the frame and the slotted screw was in a wee plastic bag,,,UNDER the cardboard in the box. I just accidentally noticed it. You indeed might wanna check ya revolver box and look for it tucked out of sight too.

Howdy Don,
Since this is already late Monday, you may have already called Cimarron, but I can tell you that they will probably not be able to help you with the older (smaller) slotted base pin screw.  I hunted high and low through the parts bins at CFA last year and managed to find a single screw for a pard who needed one.  All the other screws on hand were the current-build type they sent you, which are too big for the older frames.  My best suggestion would be to try VTI.  You might also try Navy Arms, EMF, and Taylors, they all should have some Uberti parts.  Good luck.

I called cimarron first thing this morning and the guy I spoke with assured me that he had the correct screws and would get them out ASAP. So I hope they will be here in a couple of days, Hopefully this will be the end of the problem but just in case if they dont ft i'll follow your advice and try VTI and the others.
I sure appreciate the help folks.I thought I had an aberation of some kind.
now if the mail isnt held up by the Global warming that ihas got everything here frozen .

I'm the pard that Abilene helped out this past year in locating the correct old model base pin screw for my Cimarron Old Model P. The P is stamped BN (2000), and when I bought it used it only had the knurled screw. The first screw Cimarron sent me was for the later type (it's narrower than the earlier type screw, and also shaped differently) and it didn't fit. I asked Abilene on this forum if he could help, and he graciously looked through the parts bin at Cimarron and could find only ONE older type screw.....and that one now resides in my pistol.
So........I wish you luck, but suspect that might not be enough!
